Hari raya aji the other day, my family and I went to a small get together at my uncle's. It was after Maghrib though. Can it still be considered raya aji get together? heheh Anyway, whilst we were there, we noticed a framed picture of a lady with 2 kids besides her. This picture was new but a copy from an old picture. We later found out, the lady in the picture was my dear late grand mother, my mum's side. The two kids in the picture was my mum and an uncle. We never knew our grandmother. She passed away a long time ago. Even my mum do not remember when she passed away exactly as she was also very young still when she left them. Tolak campur, my best guess I think it was something like 50 years ago when she passed away. Now I have not asked my mum anything about her lately, (by lately I mean in my adulthood) but if memory serves me right, (if you can trust my childhood memories that is) I think she passed away after undergoing an operation. Again, I dont exactly know what the operation was for. You might wonder how come I do not even know how she looked like and did not recognise her in the picture. Well, as I said, we never knew her and secondly, I do not believe I have seen any other picture of her. Lagi dulu atu, life was hard. Finding a picture of her was already almost a miracle. Looking at her picture, we all agreed that one of my sister has her looks. I remember, again from my childhood memory, an old lady friend of hers described her as a very polite lady and had a very soft voice. I dont think any one of us took after her in that respect. :-) Please excuse the quality of the picture.

Oishii desu ne!!

Hi guys.. haaaaa what a day. Something strange happened today. My office mates and I decided to go to Misato for lunch. Picked them up in my car and everybody crammed in. On the way there, I felt this strange feeling all over my body. I thought something must be off. I cant really describe it. Dont think I've ever experienced it before. I felt weak. I felt drained. I felt cold. I didnt want to sleep or lie down or even felt like passing out. It came upon me in a matter of seconds. I could not understand it.

Once at Misato, my hands were trembling. They were shaky. Told the others and they thought it was just hunger. I wasnt sure if that was it. I mean I did have breakfast before leaving for work and I made myself a cup of that ginseng / tongkat ali tea at 9.30. I couldnt be that hungry. Could I?

Anyways, my food came. Started to eat. I chowed down a serving of Agadashi tofu and Salmon bento consisting of a bowl of rice, 2 filet of salmon, potato salad, 4 pieces of fried chicken, miso soup and that prawn cocktail thinny. I think they're right. Felt better after that. The shaky hands were gone. hehehe How about that? Funny eh? Does that mean I'have never been hungry before. Well of course not. I have been hungry before but just never with the shaky hands. It's just that I never experienced that before. So weird.

Back at work

So back at work today after a long and lazy end of year holiday. whoooaaa So lazy one. I really was not ready for work today. Despite that, I did arrive at work 10 mins early. I thought I'd better start off the new year on the right foot. And what a better way of doing that with a bright and early start to work. (except it rained this morning hehe) 2007 as yet will be a challenging year for me career wise. We have planned a lot of projects kicking off in a couple of months time. And I need all the help I can get. I hope I can do well. Ameen.

It was quite a funny feeling on the way to the office. As I entered the main door, I felt like I was in a daze. It felt as if it was my very first day at work, but I knew where to go. In the office, it seemed foreign to me yet everything was familiar. I sat at my desk for a while wondering and not knowing what to do. But luckily that didnt last long. I snapped right out of it. I immediately took a bottle of water for my plants. Phew.. they're still alive! Before I left to go on leave, I purposely flooded the pot and its reservoir to anticipate the 10 days or so of drought. And my plants survived.. yeay heheh I continued on to go through the 200 odd emails sitting in my mail box. But hey, I did well today. Managed to get through all of them, although I still need to follow up on some of them.

Made myself a cupp of tea. Some time ago IT suggested that I take ginseng tea to get myself an energy boost. So that was what I took. Its one of those 3 in 1. Quite nice I must say. At 10.30 my boss invited me to join him for a break. I can never resist a chance to eat. So off we went to happy dean. Had kolo mee with shredded chicken. It was great, as usual. Saw Sanusi there (my batch mate from MD). I've not seen him for ages. Said hi and bye.

Lunchtime, I thought I'd go off to Big Mama's. On the way there, there was a huge traffic jam. By huge, I mean about 5 mins wait. U know, I just hate waiting and not doing anything. Sitting in a stationary car isnt much fun either. So I made a detour and decided to call IT to see if he was game for a drink. He was and off we went to the mall. We ended up at one of my fav hanging out place....... took some pics.

Hey guys. Sorry for the lack of updates. U know how it is. Sibuk and malas and in no mood and tired. Phew what a week! Not that amazing things happened, well actually something quite amazing did happen. What's amazing was the amount of food I chowed down for the past week. haha I have been on leave since before christmas and I ate may way through new year. I wonder if my any of pants still fit. Well, the moment of truth will be tomorrow morning, tomorrow will tell. .

Let me give you an example of a day I had during the past week or so. Woke up sort of late. Had break fast at home. Surfed the net. Read some papers and blogs. Showered. Went to have dim sum at Dynasty with family. Continued on to Coffee Zone Centerpoint. Stayed there for the rest of the afternoon. Left at about 7pm. My Aunt wanted to go to the Mall to check out some laptops, but there was a traffic jam. (Why were we driving from Centerpoint to the Mall? Coz it was raining!) Then we ended up in one of the compuer shop in Qlap. After that, felt hungry, we went to Soto Tinis in Gadong. Just intime before it closed. Straight back to Centerpoint to pick up some McDo's. Had ice-cream. Went to my gran's place. And what did I do there? What else but ate some more. Managed to help Auntie N with her Ice Cream cocktail, which was very easy to make and custard pudding. Which was also easy to make. Look forward to them for the next day.

Hari Raya Korban was a fun family outing day. Unfortunately I missed this year's Hari Raya mass payers. I woke up late. We headed to our gran's place. had some very delicious food. I had nasi lemak with rendang, Had fried noodles. Had mee cury, which IS my favourite. Had tumpi with susu manis. Had few other bits which I cant remember on top of my head. To top it all off I had sago with gula anau (sp?) & santan. which was just lovely. Gosh I have to reduce my sweet intakes. I have been eating sweet stuff lately. Craving. Ntah kenapa kah ia. .
